Beta: KeyEspresso is not in the Chrome Web Store yet, and this site has no beta build to offer right now. Beta testers load a build shared with them by the KeyEspresso team.

Your Chrome beta, step by step.

  1. Unzip the KeyEspresso extension build you received.
  2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  4. Pin KeyEspresso from the puzzle-piece menu so the popup is one click away.

  • Storage and alarms — to keep your library on this device and sync it in the background.
  • Identity — only to open the DivByZero sign-in window when you choose Connect my account.
  • Site access — Chrome asks when you install KeyEspresso: it works on all sites, so shortcuts expand wherever you type. Password, payment and one-time-code fields are never touched, and you can pause it on any site from the toolbar icon.
  • This page can ask a KeyEspresso build allowed by this site whether it is installed in this browser. The answer carries only its version, never your account or snippets.

Now for the satisfying part.

  1. 1. In the welcome page, create the example snippet ;hello.
  2. 2. Type ;hello in the practice box below.
  3. 3. Press Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on Mac) once to see the shortcut come back.
